Cowboy Bebop

Does anyone here like Cowboy Bebop? I have always liked anime, but I never went completely *crazy* for it until I saw CB. The music is what drew me in. It has kind of a '50s-jazz thing going. But the soundtrack isn't entirely jazz. The composer of CB, the amazing Yoko Kanno, likes to mix up styles of music. You can hear everything from jazz to classical, blues, & funk in Cowboy Bebop. I have all the soundtracks on my i-Pod. They are only available as Japanese imports, although I bet that if they released them domestically they would sell like crazy. Anyway, if there is one anime series that would be amazing in a live-action version, it's Cowboy Bebop. It's sort of a dream of mine.:)

3. Loved the series.

Own it on DVD. Ed was my favorite character. Seems like it would be difficult to film this series live action, but I would definately go see it if they did.

The whole series is great, I liked the movie as well. It's the show that got me interested in anime.

5. In recent news...

All your Faye Valentine fantasies are finally going to come true… if you have any at least! Following Akira and Ghost in the Shell announcements, apparently Cowboy Bebop is in for a live-action adaptation as well. IF Magazine talked with veteran producer Erwin Stoff (via AICN) and discovered that he's working on making a live-action Cowboy Bebop movie with Fox. Apparently it's very fresh news: "I'm really excited to be working on it, and it's in the really early stages. We just signed it the other day." If you're not so familiar with Bebop, it's an incredibly popular Japanese anime TV series that first aired back in 1998 and has become a hit here in the US as well as Japan. I'm not exactly a big fan myself, but considering Hollywood is caught up in the anime trend, I'm definitely excited to see this one come to life as well.
