I am making my famous Lotion Bars today!
I am trying a slight variation to my recipe. This time I am using almond oil, beeswax and olive oil.

I am also trying something different for a mold. Our "superwalmart" here in Mineral Wells does not carry any kind of candle or soap molds and I don't want to drive to Fort Worth, soooooo, I am using cigarette boxes. My brand of cigs comes in a box and I have been saving them. I hope it works out!

2. I am curious too. I have always wanted to try to make soap or lotion
bars but have never tried it. I would love to know how you did it and how they turned out.

3. They came out awesome

I used equal parts
almond oil
beeswax
olive oil

melt the beeswax then add the other two oils and stir to blend. I used just under a cup of each this time (I ran out of beeswax) and made 5 bars. Let all the oils heat completely, but do not boil, just get them warm and well blended. Remove from the heat and add any scents you like. Pour into molds and allow to harden.

You can use just about any kind of oil, as long as the oil is pure with out any yucky stuff added. It is the beeswax that makes the whole thing work. I have also used

almond oil
beeswax
coconut oil

Just as soon as we can get some more beeswax, I plan on experimenting some more with different oils.

The cigarette boxes worked great as a mold. I smoke Marlboro ultra light 100's which normally come in a box. I removed the foil from inside and shook out any tobacco left. I stood them up in a bread baking pan (5 boxes) and used a ladle to fill each one. After they hardened, I put them in the fridge for a while to get them extra hard, then I just tore off the box and VOILA! Wonderful square shaped lotion bars. I wrapped them in wax paper and put them back in the fridge. I will add giftwrap right before I give them.

These make awesome gifts and people just love them. You don't have to tell them how easy they are to make.

5. yes, just rub them between your hands or any part of
the body you want softened. Your body heat will melt the oils in the bar.
