Follow up to the minor electrical glitch...

I went to the hardware store and the guy helping me seemed unsure about what I needed to buy so I came back home to take out the old socket so I would get the right replacement...then I remembered that plug only worked if the light switch was on...you guessed it..someone turned the switch off when they put their coat on the coat hook and that's why there was no power! I am sure glad I did not call an electrician. Thank you for all of your help, I hope you get a chuckle out of this.

4. I've only ordered items like these that are hard to find.

I haven't found those things to be expensive. For example, the switch covers are $10 for a set of four. Rather than make a trip into town to Home Depot, maybe to find out they don't even carry them, I'll spend the ten bucks plus shipping. I also got a set of these for my bathtub:



Maybe the extra tall splashguard is available somewhere cheaper but I don't know where and it has really helped keep the carpet in my bathroom dry.

7. Many years ago, one of my sons turned off the furnace ........

...... in January. The furnace switch was a red one, but right next to the light switch in the basement stairwell.

It got cold. We called a furnace guy (it was, of course, a doubletimeandahalf Sunday).

He came. The first thing he did was check the switch.

The kid didn't get blamed. I did. And I deserved it for not thinking to check that switch first! I had, myownself, turned it off twice in the past.

8. Been there, done that, replaced a light bulb

and then thought to look at the damned switch.

It's hilarious because I'm the one who wired the upper plug to that switch, in the first place. I've regretted it ever since.
