well, after two years looks like I might be getting my new dishwasher

this weekend

since we're buying it at auction it will be a DIY install. seems pretty straight forward. We had the old one out to repair a pipe a few years ago and the only hitch may be that the floor tile doesn't go under the unit so the floor will drop off as we try to slide it in. the good news is that the cabinet next to the D/W is cut out so I can literally crawl in there to help ease it into place

any suggestions, comments or life experience to share on this seemingly simple install?

I remember getting a dishwasher after years of apartment living. Fabulous. I can't remember if we installed it ourselves or got a plumber to do it. I will ask Ketchup, Jr. and get back to you if he has any advice.

I have one now that the dishes actually come out dirtier than they go in seems like sometimes LOL

I knew it was in bad shape, but over Xmas when we did cleanup with my sMom's D/W, we literally just scraped the dishes and loaded and they came out wonderfully! From then on poor Mr. K has heard me moan, bitch and complain every night since as I scrub the dishes before putting them in LOL

since we're getting it at auction we're hoping to pick it up CHEAP! and that all it's parts are there etc. if it's not intact we'll have our appliance guy do it cuz he'll have to order parts

3. They all go in and out pretty much the same ..... so pay attention .....

.... as you take out the old one. There are, as I recall, just three connections ..... one hot water feed, one drain, and one electrical feed.

About that floor ... we have the same condition .... the new flooring does not go under the dishwasher. The issue is not getting it in so much as getting it out. You have to lower the unit with the adjustable feet so as to allow you to lift it slightly to clear the new floor as you move it out. Not hard ... just pay attention to what you're doing.

As to parts ..... you can order them online if the model's mainstream and relatively new. You can also download all the documentation for it. In fact, you may wanna do that before you buy the unit. That way you can tell if all the parts are there.

4. this is a current model and I can't find the manual anywhere

It looks to still be in the factory shipping packaging with some dings on the front panel (easy to replace)
