1. Aleene's makes a product called Jewel-It

I've used several of her other adhesives and liked them all.

"Holds hard-to-hold jewels and embellishments permanently through repeated washing. Quick setting, dries clear and flexible. We recommend Jewel-It to apply jewels, plastic beads, glass beads, rhinestones, pearls and sequins to washable and non-washable fabrics."

2. For hard surfaces, hot glue is your friend
unless you're trying to bejewel things like saucepan handles, the hot glue gun will allow you to affix any decoration to any nonporous surface.

3. I used to use THOUSANDS of flat-backed rhinestones when I competed
Edited on Sat Mar-11-06 09:38 PM by lavenderdiva
in ballroom dancing. I always used E-6000. But Alene's makes a fabric glue that is very good for sticking to lycra or stretchy type fabrics. I started out using hot glue, but it would dry too fast, and too hard, and the rhinestones would 'pop'. You have very little 'work' time with hot glue, and it leaves those darned 'tails' of glue.
