Questions about replacing a skylight
My 2 skylights (19 yrs. old) now have hundreds of cracks in them and it is obviously time to replace them. Is this as easy to do as it seems? Do you just take the old one off and nail the new one on? The flashing seems to be ok. If the old one is a 2 ft by 4 ft will the new ones be the same standard size? I am a 55 yr. old woman and don't mind climbing on the roof and getting sweaty and my 24 yr. old son has said he will help. Am I overlooking anything?

1. Replacing a Skylight is a Whole Bunch..
of work. But if you are willing to take on the task you can look here: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/pac_ctnt/text/0,2019,DIY_14161_25028,00.html
for some installation help.

I would recomend that you not attempt this unless you have a carpentry and drywall background. However, it is your house, and the link will provide you with some installation help.
