I am deeply tired and intend to cancel my membership
in the DIY, Home Improvement and Crafts Group as soon as this stupid kitchen remodel is finished. I mean it. I'm taking y'all of the favorites list 'cause it is just too much work.

Just though I'd share ;-)

2. And you, Sir.......
are one of the chief instigators. :P

You are right, I probably don't mean it. Once it is done, it will be fabulous. But can someone answer a question? Why does it take one entire month to get counter tops made? I could be nearly done by now, but instead, I am hanging out, no sink or stove, waiting for the counters to be made. Makes no sense.

5. My ex had to wait almost six weeks for her new Zodiaq counters
But she planned for it and ordered them way ahead of time.

The truth is, there's no exacuse for having to wait that long. The counters don't take long to fabricate. In fact, the last time we redid the kitchen (almost 20 years ago), they measered one day and delivered and installed the next. Of course, those were laminate counters.

My new stainless counters took almost two months to get, but again, I ordered way ahead and then had them sitting in the yard for almost two weeks after they arrived.

In your 'next time' file, add this note: Order counters way ahead of time.

9. But they wanted to send a guy to measure,
so I couldn't order until the cabinets were installed. I got measured the day after we completed the lower cabinets. Problem is, we had already been out of a kitchen for over a week, what with the demo and floor installation.

I guess next time, I will insist that they accept my measurements from the plan. But there won't be a next time, cause I am never moving, ever again.

major doings the next 6 months??

but I'm sorry your counters are hanging up the project, what a nightmare. Don't feel bad though, we were supposed to hit the road first thing in the AM for NM and the bank hasn't sent over the loan docs yet so we're here at least ONE more day.

7. Oh jeez, now I feel guilty for even complaining.
Moving is such a pain. At least I know where my stuff is, even if I can't use it.

Fine, I will lurk, but under no circumstances will I begin a new project. No paint samples, no quotes, no nuthin'!

Have a great trip. Post when you get settled :hi:
