New Crochet Magazine
My SIL found this at Borders last week:

Crochet Today

http://www.crochettoday.com/

Lots of contemporary designs. Cool blankets, hats, and some easy neat Christmas decorations.

1. Thanks! I just signed up!
Maybe this will inspire me to get back to crocheting. I have an unfinished afghan that I should be working on but I never think about it. I should put it on my chair so I can't sit down without seeing it! :)

2. i have one too
an unfinished afghan. i haven't touched it in about 10 years, but i should finish it. but what's really got me interested again is all of the beautiful, soft yarn out there. lots of scarves to crochet (and knit)!

3. I have actually started working on mine again!
Like I said above, I put it on my chair so that I had to move it aside in order to sit down but once it was in the vicinity, I picked it up and started working on it again. It's made up of ten strips and I started the 9th last night so one more after that and then the border! :woohoo:

I have yarn and kits that I bought a couple of years ago so I have plenty to keep me busy before I will buy any more! ;)

6. oh, then for sure
finish it! don't you love the sense of accomplishment when you finish a project? my project is a granny square afghan, cream/mauve/moss green, with a flower in the middle of each square. about 1/3 of the squares are done - i need to get on the ball (pun not intended) and finish it!

at my workplace, there are several women who are just getting into (or back into) crocheting. doesn't it seem like needlecrafts are popular again where you are too?

7. I find that once people know you're into needlework, they're really interested in it
When people see me crocheting something, they're first surprised because I'm only 26. They think it's only older people that do things like that.

And second, there's a lot of people who want to learn how to do it as well.

My SIL found a cute pattern for a granny square afghan, I think I may try that out this spring. I'm too busy now making Christmas gifts to start a fun project like that.

8. Thanks - a neat link at that site, too....
There's a link to a Save The Children request for knitted or crocheted caps for newborns around the world.

10. great!
i made two hats - one red and one cream. sent them out last week. it's so easy to print a mailing label online these days and just pop a small parcel in my mailbox for the mailman to take. i even recycled an old penzy's spices box by turning it inside out.

i hope they do this project again in '07. i could learn to knit for sure by making the tiny hats. the inspiration is there with every stitch.

thanks for the link to warm up america.

11. I like "Crochet!" too.
That looks good. I'll have to check it out.

There are so many up-and-coming crochet designers, and there's some really good stuff coming out now. One of my fave new guys is Drew, the Crochet Dude.
