Besides building a garage, what's the best way to keep my car door

from freezing shut? Not the lock, the door..It's 9:30 and I just barely could get in the passenger side...Thanks for any suggestions!

4. Silicone lubricant in a spray can--use a lot

I had a car that I would spray silicone on and it would still stick once in a while. I think that I did not use enough silicone. Its last winter was 2002, so my memory is a bit hazy here. You could spray the metal where the gasket closes on the car body, too.

15. You need to make sure anyplace metal touches metal, rubber

touches metal, or any other surface that makes physical contact is completely dry, then spray the hell out of it.

Back in New England, I used WD40 a couple of times a winter.

On edit: before I discovered WD40, I occasionally had to string an extension cord out and thaw the whole business with a hair dryer.

8. I think I did tis a few years ago with some success...but the towel

would sometimes freeze to the car! I have been know to climb in the hatchback...not an easy task!
