my recipe for suede paint
I usually stick to politics and I didn't even know this forum existed, man I am so glad I found it.

You know the suede paint that costs a fortune and is impossible to get a great finish?

I experimented and came up with a beautiful finish.

I used SW PROMAR 200 in eggshell tinted to my color.
To that I added one 2lb. bag of tinted craft sand, you know the kind you use for sand sculpting? works perfect, you don't even need to buy the more expensive white silica.

Best yet, you don't even have to buy the expensive sponge roller thing, I used a four inch brush and got a great one coat finish.

I am so happy I am dancing here...well the bolt of fabric I got today for 4 dollars helped too.

1. Thanks for the recipe
I saved it to my file. This is something I have wanted to try for a long time.

Do you have special plans for that fabric? :) An amazing price!

3. sure do have a plan for it
I wanted the new vertical blinds with sheers for a patio door. I looked everywhere and they were so expensive...like 800-1000 bucks. I really wanted them in a soft rosy beige to match the walls and not look so conspicuous.

I had to settle for the JCP 99 dollar version in plain cream color, cause of the price.

All the Wal-Marts are closing their fabric depts. and the fabric is 50% off. I spotted this bolt, in the perfect color! I am a regular in that dept. and when the girl started to cut it, I was complaining about the dept. closing and she said "you sure you want the whole bolt" and I said I sure did.
She marked the whole thing 4 bucks!

I am just going to finished the edges and hot glue it right over the top and bottom pleats and then I will have my 1000.00 blinds for 107.00.

A deal anyday.

2. That sounds fun and relatively easy!
We're about to repaint our bedroom but we already bought the paint. Is there something special about the SW PROMAR 200l or do you think this would work with other paint?

Thanks! :hi: And welcome to the group!

4. use any good latex paint
I just use that SW brand cause I get a good discount on it.

I am sure that any good latex paint would work just as well.

Thanks for the welcome and y'all might be in for a surprise.

I can honestly say I have tried just about every single craft medium out there, specialize in sewing and tile. I am a really good carpenter and fixer upper.

My husband tells everyone he dated me for my looks but married me for my carpentry skills.

It's a joke...I think.
