As anyone worked with hot fix swarovski crystals? I want to start making

doggie shirts. I want to know how to make patterns so that I can put my designs on the shirts.

1. I haven't done this but an idea came to mind

Put your design onto some **freezer paper - trace one from something you like if needed.

Tape the freezer paper to your tee where you want the design.

Iron the freezer paper to the tee using a dry iron. Practice on another piece of cloth first to get the hang of it. You might want to use a piece of pressing cloth between the iron and freezer paper to help protect the tee and also the freezer paper from getting scorched.

Slip a piece of cardboard inside the tee.

At that point you could punch through the freezer paper with a pencil to mark the spot where you want to place the crystals.

Peel off the freezer paper and affix the crystals.

3. Freezer paper is great

I can see this combined with crystals. Maybe stencil a bird onto a tee and use a crystal for the eye.

4. I don't use hot fix

I used to design and make figure skating dresses....competition and practice. The figure skating world survives on crystals. I always used the glue E6000, you can find it in almost any store that sells glue.

Anyway as far as design, I would lay the dresses out and place the crystals on top just to see how they looked before I would glue (or in the case of margarites, teardrops etc. sew) them on.

The glue holds just fine. Squirt a small amount on a piece of foil, or paper plate. Use a straight pin with a ball head and scoop up a bit of glue. Lay the crystal upside down and touch the glue to the crystal...you will be able to pick up the crystal with the pin and place it on the fabric.

I know this really isn't what you asked for, but I thought it may be helpful.
