I need a recommendation for a paint stripper
I'm removing the paint from my build in's around my fireplace mantel. Vertical and horizon surfaces. I have a heat gun. Lot of work. I was using a paint stripper to remove the stuck on paint. Oh, I also have molding to remove paint from.

Help.

I would like to know any type of eco friendly stuff around that isn't too expensive.

thanks

m

1. I'd like to know also!
We tried using PeelAway and it didn't work too well.

My husband wants to strip all our woodwork down to original wood-- I say it would look great but it's too much of a pain in the ass to do, it looks like crap now, all peeling, so let's just PAINT!!

Eco-friendly is important to us also.

2. I have used 3M "Safest Stripper"...
...it is a Semi-Paste paint and varnish remover. No harmful fumes and almost no odor at all. The label says no gloves needed but I used gloves just to be on the safe side. Results were excellent ( heavy paint may need repeat application). Don't know about eco-friendly though. Good luck!

5. Don't know how well this works, but it's environmentally safe and soy-based
