Some questions about light bulbs and chandeliers:

I have a crystal chandelier with candelabra sockets. Up to now I've been using 60 W incandescent bulbs.

1. Has anyone tried out the new Reveal bulbs? Do they make the prisms sparkle any differently?

2. What about a fluorescent bulb? HAs anyone seen one that would fit and also look good?

1. There is one fluorescent that may work for you

DO check the info/instructions on the package before buying. Some of these cannot handle dimmers.

As for the Reveal bulb:
It does cast a nice "natural" white light. I use this particular bulb in my dratfing table lamp. As for changing the sprkling effects, I don't think it's going to make much difference.
Are you currently using a clear glass incandescent? The clear glass ones do add brighter light.

re: 60w bulbs in chandelier--some chandeliers will take up to a 60w. Hope you checked the bulb socket for that info. So many chandeliers only take up to a 40w

2. What about the LED bulbs coming out?

Are any of them anywhere near bright enough to replace a 40 watt or 60 watt bulb, or are the closer to a 4 watt night light?

3. LED bulbs are good for task lighting like a reading lamp

The best use they can make of those is directional lighting.

4. I am trying to change over all

my lights and have the same problem with a few candelabra sockets. Of course usually means the bulbs are part of the light design making things harder. I went searching and they do have shaped bulbs like this that aren't too bad looking. I haven't gotten any yet though because the light I would use them on aren't being used at all right now because of renovations. If you google candelabra compact fluorescent bulbs a lot of places that sell them come up.
