A couple of questions on pre-fab steel buildings
I'm hoping someone here has some experience with steel buildings. Our company is considering building new and I've had several people tell me that pre-fab steel is the cheapest option. We're primarily doing assembly and warehousing. From looking around the net, it looks like you can get a shell up for about $10 a square foot, assuming normal heights. Does that sound about right? Any other considerations that I should keep in mind? Any guesstimates on the total finish cost for a pre-fab steel? We've been looking for an existing space for a couple years now and we can't find anything affordable. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

1. I have no experience other than having priced them some years ago ......
I think that price is for the building shell only. No finishing, no foundation/pad, no electric, no plumbing, no insulation, etc., etc., etc.

2. Don't have much help except.........
..........I've heard this company's ad a brazillion times on the radio...Their website says same-day quotes.

http://www.gensteel.com/

I would imagine a manufacturer could give you some guidance re: finishing costs. They might have a referral in your area that could put together a quote in tandem with their quote.

Good luck!
