any suggestions on a good solvent (waterless) based upholstery spot cleaner?
We just got new LazyBoy chairs and they both need a waterless solvent style spot cleaner.

as much as I'd like to ignore it, the fact is we *will* spill salsa/gravy/soda/coffee on the chairs. I just want to have the cleaning stuff on hand when it happens

any suggestions??

TIA DUers!

3. Ouch! Ouch! Yowch!
Well, I just came over from Stinky's thread in C&B.

Honestly, I know what you mean about getting splooches of stuff on the upholstery. When it's just us and I'm eating something in a comfy chair I've taken to getting a big towel and draping it over me. It may make me look like a big baby but it can literally catch everything. Then I roll it up, shake the crumbs out the back door and fold it up for next time.

What kind of fabric on your chairs?

5. My guess is they each need their own cleaner
Ultra suede sounds dreamy comfortable.

7. Most of that stuff is made for cars
and this one looks promising: http://www.autogeek.net/dp310.html

You might want to protect it with something like http://www.ultra-guard.com/features.htm

A guide to spot cleaning is at http://www.eriksfurniture.com/caresuede.html

Most places suggested if ultrasuede gets stained, a professional upholstery cleaner needs to be called in. My own impression is that protecting the surface is probably a good first step. Prevention looks easier than cure.
