I want to put in a garden fountain - Any tips?
I have a bronze sculpture, a sort of Bacchus/Pan mask with a water spout through the mouth. It's mounted on a brick wall about three feet off the ground. I'm planning on putting a concrete slab down, then constructing a basin on the slab. I've also got some granite tiles that I intend to line the basin with.

I'm getting a submersible pump from Lowe's and some copper tubing to fasten to the wall to carry the water.

1. I am considering something like that also
Have you researched the new solar pumps? They look pretty decent depending on how much water you want to move.

3. Thank you. Hadn't thought about those
But will now investigate.

Need to place the solar panels away from the pump though as this won't get much sun. And I want to run the fountain when we have outdoor parties at night.

2. We want to do something similar...
we have an old cistern on the side of our house and we want to create a water wall feature over the top and use a submersable sump pump to draw water out of the cistern.

4. We had a huge pond in our backyard a few years ago...
but since we're selling, our realtor told us it could be a liability for anyone with children.

Look here; they have lots of great pond accessories and supplies:
