Fountain progress report Dial Up Warning
So, with the help of my next door neighbor (who's a really helpful guy and an engineering genius - he's remodeling his property - one house into to two apartments and he's doing a great job) construction on the fountain commenced today.

I'm doing an illustrated report for you all.

Preliminary grunt work - take out the bricks, dig out the dirt.

Assemble the rakes, shovels, materials and other implements of construction.

Construct the outer form and level the dirt.

Construction of the inner form.

Pour the slab and level the inner form.

Pour the sidewalls and pound out the air bubbles - wait.

Not shown are some of the details - Such as bending the copper tube that is going to carry the water to the mouth of the mask (with the help of plastic tubing slipped up the copper.

This is going to be so cool!

2. There will be more to come as construction continues
The forms are going to stay on at least 3 days but probably longer as we're going away next weekend and I may not get them taken off before we leave.

In one of the pictures you can possibly see the granite tiles that I'm going to cut down and cover the outer walls and line the basin with.

There's no drain hole so the basin is going to be emptied before the first frost and covered with a sheet of plywood in the winter. But the rest of the year I'm just going to run the pump all the time for the sound.
