Question about an outdoor slab.

I just bought a used 8 x 8 foot hot tub. I'm moving it to my house in the country.
I need to put it outside on a concrete slab, on flat level ground. This would be right outside my closed-in carport that is a patio, and I could put some paving stones out to the slab.

I would like to make the slab 12 x 12 for the hot tub part, and extend the side for a sitting area, to make it maybe 22 x 12. I would like to put sandstone or some kind of stone set into the concrete to walk on. Something that would be comfortable while walked on with wet bare feet, and would provide traction without being rough.

Any suggestions?

1. Lots of concrete outfits can put a texture into the top of the slab.

Anything from cobblestone to tiles. That might be cheaper.

2. you can set the stone in sand

by digging down 4 to six inchs below grade ,allow for the thickness of the stone to meet grade level.Fill the cracks with sand Or use mortar for that with sand mixed into the base.When setting the stone in the mortar you groud as you would tile using a sponge and clean wet rags to clean the stone as you go. If you have a Home Depot near by it has verious selections for your idea. Or go to a stone quarry. Yellow pages.See all the different choices.

3. cool deck is a good product

good traction and any concrete company can add it. usually used around pools but it's just a coating they put on concrete and comes in lots of colors
