Round Two

we finally found a decent craftsman/handyman to get some much delayed work done on our little trailer.

he's already pulled all the damned 'expansion joints' and is taping and mudding the walls to prep for paint.

it's looking good! and I'll post some pics soon.

here's the pic of the old look, just as a refresher...note the faux wood chair rail and the vinyl wallpaper

1. I did that job myself on my trailer

and I stripped all the wallpaper, a miserable job that took months of finding an hour here and there, putting on loud music, and going at it with the wallpaper stripper and razor blades.

I kept the strips from the expansion joints because they made great warp spacers for my loom.

You're going to love it when it's done. It feels much more like a real house than a stage set when the expansion joints are gone along with somebody else's taste in wallpaper.

I kept the molding on the top and bottom. There is a space there, and unless you want to invest in more expensive crown molding and base boards, it's the way to go to cover it up.

2. yes we're keeping the central beam and the crown molding

and the popcorn ceilings are gonna have to wait too

he's also added 'corner aid' and taped and mudded the window insets with a crisp edge after removing the 'storm window' metal frames.

we're almost ready to start rolling on the texture. we are leaving the wall paper intact and mixing wall mud and very good primer together to roll on a texture, then good paint.

but next time I can buy cheaper paint and change color easily :bounce:


AND after much gnashing of the teeth and the help of a plumber, the new Bosch dishwasher is installed and running, but you'd never notice cuz it's so darned quiet!!
