Have miserable Comcast Cable (basic) TV and have the coupons for converter boxes. This week for 2 days, CVS is selling the "Craig" model CVD506 for the price of the coupon, $40.00=free.

I wonder of using this converter box in addition to by basic miserable cable options will give me any better choices of programming and if this model is worth wasting the $$$ on.

Somehow I think a good old antenna in the attic would solve my problem but if I drop basic cable, my internet cost goes up. Damned if you do etc.....

PS, does the digital conversion cause any problem with my VCR/DVD player?

1. Hopefully, the "Craig" model CVD506 has a "composite" output

A yellow RCA/phono plug for video and a red & white RCA pair for left and right channels of audio. Composite plus video should feed into most VCRs.

I have not looked into the connections on these receivers though. There is probably the "modulated" RF output with the threaded connectors that you use to send to your TV tuner on channel 3 or 4. You could use that.

Programming on the public tv station in my town looks great. It is an extra channel of mostly documentaries.

The extra channels on commercial tv here has constant weather and weather radar and I don't know what else. You could look up your stations by the call signs.
