My landscaping is supposed to be done tomorrow
I'll do a lot of things, demo, tile, paint and the like but i don't do landscaping, it's just not my thing but....a friend of ours started a landscaping business so i set aside $1500 to do the front flower bed which looks so bad right now, my neighbors must be hating me and the back which will be a re mulch with some flowers thrown in. the front I'm keeping simple, it's gets very little sun so I'm going for ornamental grass and some kind of centerpiece, I'm thinking simple and elegant, you know....less is more. So he's supposed to be here in the morning with his guys so start the job and then he and i will take a trip to the nursery to pick out the plant material, if all goes according to schedule I'll post the before and after pics, he's already changes the schedule twice so I'm a tad worried he wont show but also i haven't paid him anything yet so I'm not too worried about it. BTW, the before pics.....i'm sure you will kind in your comments.....

PS, if my neighbors front yard looked like mine does right now, i'd be a little pissed.

6. Thank you, i actually found black ornamental grass, you can't see all that
well in the picture but it is so unusual, I'd never seen it before today but it supposed to grow to about 10-12 inches high and then kind of spread a little.

7. i knew your house was in cali
by the photo :-)...wow, was it really $1500 for a job that appears quite small? i want to brick in my back yard (it now has grass and concrete, but am afraid it will be cost prohibitive although i CAN do some of the labor.

8. it was $1500 for the front and the back. I needed 9 yards of mulch
and 3 yards of good top soil along with all the plants. the back looks fantastic.

9. Oh, I guess you don't want to be my neighbor.
My front yard is a mess, I have massive weeds beyond my grass perimeter. But my plan is to clean it up and fix it up myself this summer with fairly drought tolerant plantings...

What I wanted to ask you was where did you or your landscaper find the brick for your border? That is exactly what I need. I think I will save and print your picture, and see if I can find some of it for my front yard, I need about 40 feet worth...
