ok, not fix itself, but at least showed me what was wrong. i had posted about my dishwasher. we replaced a couple of parts, including the brain, and it was still ending up with water in the bottom. only now it was every day. it seemed to be cleaning ok. i just couldn't find the time to do the last thing i could think of- get down into the guts to see if the evacuation pump needed cleaning or replacing.
well, the other day it was left with the door ajar. it leaked all over the floor. the thing was, it hadn't been run, and had been dry earlier in the day. iow, the inlet valve was leaking.
tada. part is on the way. easy fix, too. right under the toe kick.

Sometimes an accident isn't really an accident ! After all that work the problem finally reveal-ed itself to you ! good for you!Your effort payed off.

By the way did yer manual say anything about that in the problem and symptoms section ?

I by parts from a local appliance parts company. They have access to drawings and spects. I have found they are helpful assisting in the process of trouble shooting the problem.They sell both company manufactured and after market parts.

Most appliance parts outlets also have repair tecs. there. Although I wouldn't walk in expecting to speak to one on demand. However I have been refered to a tec, repair guy in the store on ocasion. Most of the time,when I have difficulty with trouble shooting, a counter rep. looks up the make and model than calls up the drawings,on those pages are lists of parts associated to verious problems a unit will have over time.

Bosh also sells repair manuals. I stopped buying appliance repair manuals a long time ago ! Thats because I don't bother with fixing appliances much anymore ! With everything being on the cheap and all,! you know, by the time you reach half the units total cost in repair ,it becomes cheaper to replace .

Isn't that why TV repair shops are closing down all the time ! Or isn't that because time is money .

2. i used to go to the local parts place, and they were always great, but

anymore, they only have the parts for the newer stuff. it would take them a couple days to get it, and the guys i have been buying from can do that. and i don't have to leave the house. and they charged top dollar. i wouldn't mind so much but i had to wait in line with guys who were getting it for half that. i would rather not know that! i understand, but still.
this was not in the trouble shooting guide that i downloaded. but that was because it was not the problem that i thought it was. a strange one.

3. Well, you beat the problem !

I hope you get more good years out of yer unit. What you went through is the reason I don't bother with appliances much anymore. Although recently I rebuilt a sixties model stove. during a remodel. That was fun ! They don't make em like they used to ! Even the parts place people had fun on that one. They still make parts for it. The stove is the same kind of stove the Kennedy's had back in the day! The woman is in a wheel chair and can cook with that type of set up only , the oven is on top and the burners pull out like a drawer. The over door opens upward.The old antique stove allows her to cook and bake.

The oven had quit and only two burners worked. I found fuses burned out and old wiring had fallen apart. In the end I got everything working and the clock which never worked since she bought the stove. Happy lady !

I found a web site of collectors that are in to those stoves big time.
It seems there were two models, the deluxe and a smaller model.
And they have all the answers !

Talk about a blast from the past ! The lady in the wheel chair by the way is a retired antique dealer !
