the Customer Service departments of various manufacturers for help. Today was a real example of Great customer service.
My kitchen faucet was leaking and the schematic I had did not tell me how to take this thing apart and I could not figure it out. I called for help, got great advice and was told the parts would be sent to me overnight. Yesterday was the first call, the parts arrived today.
Started the project about noon. I had trouble because one of the packages that came did not seem to conform to what I needed. Called back. The package is generic and includes parts for other faucets.
Next was trouble getting the thing apart. Another call, again very gracious and helpful. I could not get the hot water handle off. Got some good suggestions and was able to finally get the handle off. Ever see a 68 year old, standing, one foot in each sink, trying to use vice grips to pull out a faucet cartridge. Wish I had a picture. When it finally came loose, I almost landed on my backside on the floor. Took me far longer that it should have but I attribute that to the broken faucet handle inside the base. The handle was corroded and broken off inside the area where the new cartridge would go. Couldn't get the cartridge out. At this point, I called for advice because the whole project was a mess and was taking me all day. Got advice about the cartridge and the company is again overnighting me a part. They are replacing the handle free of charge.
They even offered to replace the whole faucet but I declined the offer. All I need now is the handle.
I have had dealings with companies that offer a lifetime guarantee and that was worthless.
It was a pleasure dealing with these folks.
This company was MOEN, the plumbing fixture company. I thank them and will pass the word around.
Gracious service, overnight shipping. What more could I ask for?
