If I had the cash, I'd.....
- Replace the windows with double pane tilt outs

- put on a metal roof

- get a new kitchen

- put in a wood burning stove

- re-do the bathrooms

- attach a greenhouse.

What is on your dream list?

2. I have the money
but I'm not sure I want to stay in this house.

It's getting to the 11th hour on the bathroom, though, and it needs to be completely gutted.

3. Get a 102 year old house trap removed and main sewer line replaced
Fix the gaping chasm hiding under a hole in the basement floor (which is thankfully still dry)
Get a new roof
Rehabilitate an old cistern for garden watering
Refinish all the hardwood floors (almost all rooms on two stories)
Refinish all the interior woodwork (dark wood and never painted over, but the 102 year old varnish is beading and looking weird)

Not a lot of fun stuff, unfortunately. :(

6. Solar panels on the roof.
We've already renovated the kitchen and main bathroom and had the house painted. We took out all the carpeting to expose the hardwood floors that were under them. I'd be thrilled to see the electric meter run backwards for a change.

7. Enlarge master bedroom and get a second bathroom built. Get front lawn and
half of back yard sodded. Actually, I'd like a greenhouse too! New front door (knob is set bizarrely close to the edge of the door, causing barked knuckles if I'm not careful). New bath/shower for existing bathroom. New tile job for existing bathroom.

8. We rent our 150-yr-old house, but I'll play b/c we hope to be here for many years...

1) New metal roof (our current metal one is tinfoil thin :( ) with solar panels (we get all-day sun on one side of the house)

2) Renovate tiny 1950's bathroom (would still be tiny, alas)

3) Rip up carpet, likely find out floors underneath are beyond help, consider hardwood floors, remember dog has unbelievably scratchy nails no matter how often we trim, put down new eco-friendly carpet (the kind made from recycled plastic bottles), be surprised that I have become a carpeting person ;)... or maybe, since money is NO object, get hardwood floors, cover them w/expensive rugs and pay someone else to keep rugs clean. :) Oh, and while we're on floors why not some of that radiant floor heating as well?

4) Sign me up for a greenhouse too!

(edited to add missing "0" in age of house... whoops!)
