1. Call them "prefab green homes" and you'll end up with a whole bunch of hits

Google still works, it's just very fussy about vocabulary.

6. That was my response too. Some are $400 square foot.

I originally began looking at them because I thought they might be a more economical choice. But apparently not.

9. I know, that is one thing I *really* do not like abou the eco/prefab movement --

or much of the eco movement in general, is that the costs are often extremely high.

They don't have to be that expensive.

My husband and I are working on a booklet covering some of these topics. Pre-fab, no (unless/until we have the ability to set up our own shop!) but how to build inexpensively and in an environmentally sound way, yes.

4. Try looking for container homes

Small and not so small homes made from used shipping containers.
