We were taught this in high school. My two daughters were not. I just figured they didn't teach the girls how to do it? So I taught it to them. Here is a very clear explanation of how to read one.

Knowing this could come in handy on a job interview.

About six and a half minutes and the guy does a great job.

1. Ahhhh, that explains what I was looking at last week. Thanks.
I was at my in-law's going over their kitchen design. I grabbed what I thought was a "ruler" out of the father-in-law's tool box and was like, what the fuck kinda ruler does the old-timer have in his tools? It didn't help that I didn't have my glasses on.

He's a retired pilot who likes to do his own metal work and rebuild engines etc. So it would make sense he has one of these.
