Hardwood floor help?

I have dark water stains on my hardwood floors. Will they sand off?

Also some sort of paint got on the floor. (this used to be the junk room and I am guessing a spray can of kilz got up ended.) Any idea of how best to get it off the floor?

1. For the stain, google up "oxalic acid"

For the paint, I'm guessing sanding is best

Sounds like i need to sand first in either case.

3. Similar procedure for removing paint -Goof Off-paint remover

or lacquer thiner applied directly to the paint on the floor -use a plastic putty knife-or sheet rock compound knife with a beveled edge to lift the paint off after the product sets for a few minutes- you wash=soap water than reapply in steps fallowing the same procedure.
Of course you do not want the product you use to remove the finish on the floor unless you intend to refinish the entire floor after. You will sand after you have removed as much paint as you can using a solution such as was mentioned.when done carefully there will be no effect to the floor finish.

I use painters tape around the perimeter of the paint stain to keep the solution off unaffected areas of the hard wood floor.Basically it's about getting down with the problem.

4. There is a product called TSW- This Stuff Works

It was great for getting graffiti off my metal painted sign. It's ridiculously expensive- it kinda melts the paint, but it does work. I may try it 'cuz I have it, but I may also just run to the Home Depot and get some of the product you rec.
