Edited on Wed Jun-21-06 05:36 PM by LSK
I have years of experience with VB, ASP, SQL, PERL, OOP, NT, 2000 Server. I have worked in the IT department for this company for 8 years now and Im really getting fed up.

1. I don't know about IT
but I know that my company has a hard time finding qualified C++ application programmers. I must have conducted 20 interviews in the past three months, only four of which got offers (and three of those were for internships). Thankfully all but one accepted.

5. I don't know what they were offered.
I'm not a manager. I'm simply a software engineer. Each interviewee interviews with most of the engineering team members though.

We're in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

2. Everybody goes through recruiters now
All the big companies nowadays go through third party recruiting outfits that give six or twelve month contracts for each BIC. If one BIC doesn't pan out you just trade him in for another one. Then you can hire him or her on at the end of the contract (for a fee).

Get yourself hooked up with one of these firms. If you're white and American you could find yourself as Lead on team with all H1B Indians!
