Question -How to enable
translations of your website into other languages -French, German, etc.? I am involved in my community's
web site -but am not a techie. I sure would appreciate if someone could tell me how translations are implemented. Thanks in advance!

2. Why do I think you're using a CMS?
the key phrase: '"enable" translations' - sounds like you flip a switch?

Well, you DO if you're using a CMS like PHPNuke, postnuke, Mambo, etc. which is common for "community" websites...

What's your situation?

4. Appreciate your response.
I'm involved with our town's website (in an advisory situation) and since we can't afford niche marketing, it's my idea to present the visitor to the site with the option of reading it in at least a couple of other languages. We're a tourism supported economy and would like to reach out.

I did find a fairly inexpensive software designed for this - at the moment it's buried in my bookmarks and I have to go to work but I'll dig it up this afternoon and post its name.

5. Systran seems to
be what I'm looking for. I want people to be able to read our website in at least 2 other languages now and track if it results in more inquiries & visitors from abroad. If it does, then we could consider adding more languages.

Thank you both for your suggestions!
