Accessing Linux 'command line' remotely from Windows
This must be an unbelievably basic question.

I have a website setup with a hosting company, and I can get in using FTP, but I would also like to get into the Linux command line environment.

(I don't know if "command line environment" is proper terminology for Linux, so please correct me if you want.)

I installed cygwin, but have no idea how to connect. Should I use another app?

1. Download PuTTY
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

Usually it's Port 23 for ssh. Do you have a privileged login?
