how long will it be before anti-miscegenation laws are reinstated?

I have been involved for 8 years and married for almost 5
years to a Bohemian.  :toast: The one thing that wonder is if
things continue going the way they are, how long will it be
before marriages like mine are outlawed?  I think about
Fascist Europe, (Germany, Austria, etc), South Africa and the
history of this country where until the late seventies, in
many regions, it was illegal for people of different
ethnicities were forbidden by law, (anti-miscegenation laws,
there were called).  These people have been so bold in trying
to roll back the advances that so many people worked for,
struggled and in many cases, died to earn.  As a child, I had
the misfortune to see the people who are known today as the
Extreme Religious Right and I can tell you that at the
foundation of all of the treacle of morality is a VERY strong
thread of racial hatred 10 miles wide.  They used religion to
justify each and every thing they do, say and advocate in
spite of the fact that these stances and views have ABSOLUTELY
nothing to do with the God they claim to worship and venerate.
 I am a Christian and I was horrified and confused as a young
girl when I saw and heard the gall these people displayed in
their "sermons, witnessing and proselytizing" about
how the darker a person was the more sinful their bloodline
was; how music with a identifiable rhythm was "an
abomination" and black gospel was a sin beyond compare. 
Some of these nuts actually believed that music itself was a
sin, if you can believe that and some of the cheekiest of
these actually taught that oppressing women was an act
demanded by God because of the sin of Eve.  I have never been
known for keeping my mouth shut, from the time I uttered my
first word.  When I was eight years old,I remember standing up
and asking the question in chapel, (I went to a Christian
elementary and junior high), that if that was true, why did
Jesus have only one human parent,(according to the Bible, they
claim to support in it's entirety in the literal sense) and
that parent was Mary, a WOMAN?  All hell broke loose and I was
swept out of the building to the principle's office for
"counselling".  Didn't stop me from lodging my
complaints and objections. Because of my early brush with
these maniacs, I just wonder how long it will be before they
reinstate blatantly racist laws and those of us in these types
of relationships and families are "disappeared" to
secret prisons and facilities"?

1. Giveit one more republican administration, and we'll see it -

or at least, if not officially back on the books, you can bet they'll make life hell. I'm sure they'll set up some kind of hotline for racists to call into so that the IRS can harass; or they'll make it a nudge nudge wink wink for realtors to refuse to sell or landlords to rent; and many other subtle forms of oppression. Perhaps Driving While Interracial will become a new harassment tool.
