Couple o' pictures for the Catholics

I'm not a Catholic myself, but I thought this might be of interest to those who are. A few blocks from our apartment is a Polish Credit Union which has a statue of the Pope outside. When he died, some people started leaving flowers by the statue. This snowballed into the tribute seen below. (And I don't think the pictures really do it justice.)

I will admit, this is the first time I ever heard of a Polish Credit Union. Do they trade Zlotneys?

2. I'm not real sure what the story with the credit union is.

Here's its webpage. Even though I've walked by the building several times a week for 3 years, it's only in the last few months that I bothered to notice it was a credit union. I'd just assumed it was some sort of administrative office for the Catholic Church.

I'm pretty ambivalent in my feelings towards John Paul II, but I'm still moved a bit everytime I walk by those flowers.
