but would you agree to pray for those in Louisiana and the rest of the Gulf Coast who may be facing a terrible situation very, very soon, when Hurricane Katrina hits?

We have 4 people from New Orleans coming to stay with us tomorrow (Sunday), and each has a business and home, that they are very worried about, and hoping they will still be there to come back to.

All reports indicate that this storm could be the ONE, that area has been expecting for many, many years. Reportedly, the N.O. coroner has 10,000 body bags on hand, ready. I am not meaning to be an alarmist, but I moved to Texas from New Orleans 4 years ago, and all the while I was living in New Orleans, everyone I knew, had in the back of their mind, that one day, a huge storm would hit, and New Orleans could be completely wiped out, and many would perish. Its a frightening thought.

That said, I still believe in miracles and the power of prayer. O8) Anybody want to join me?

3. RevCheesehead, Swamp Rat has checked in on another thread

and has let us know that he is getting out with his Dad and going to Memphis. His Mom is in the Monteleone Hotel downtown New Orleans, way up high. Here's the link:

5. I'm praying and I'm an agnostic

I went through three hurricanes last year and none were anywhere near as horrible as Katrina will be. I pray that everyone gets out safely.

now. Several DUers are in the path. A couple had to stay in NO. Time to pray and donate to relief organizations so we can help those in need after the storm.

7. Please pray specifically for my 4 friends who are staying with me...

They have now all safely arrived from New Orleans (I live in Houston). All are terrified that they are going to lose their businesses (they own stores on Magazine Street), their homes, their livelihoods. It is very sad here, just waiting for news of how bad it is going to be for them. They need your prayers.
