Have you ever heard a RW X-tian say "You took it out of context"

but have not a single idea what the context is and how it supports their views. I ask because I hear this all of the time, it seems to take the place of thinking and reading.

1. No I have not, but I often think fundamentalists take
things out of context like stuff they say against homosexuals. They take it out of the context of the period it was written, that it was originally about forbidding male to male sacred prostitution...

2. Psh.. they take everything out of context too... However we have the added
bonus of not believing the Bible is in inerrant...gives us more latitude whereas they are stuck with some really weird rules, such as not being allowed to eat lobsters.... Not that they follow that rule anyway.

3. Yeah, they do that, and then they counter me with OT quotes.
They love Leviticus and Deuteronomy, but not the gospels so much.
