3. We gave at church last Sunday...

...and our kids led the charge! We had worked to raise some money for the tsunami victims earlier and the first thing they wanted to know was what they could do this time around. My son just had his tenth birthday and offered up all his birthday money. My six-year-old daughter made cupcakes (which we took to church and she sold for $1 a piece -- all proceeds going to ERD) and wanted to send dolls because, as she put it, "I think the little girls need somebody to snuggle with."

My wife and I were, of course, moved to tears. We have had a very rough time financially the last few years and some bad things are happening on that front right now. But we were able to scrimp on groceries (no meat for couple of weeks) and come up with a small donation. After all, it's written that "a little child shall lead them."
