If God watches over us all the time,
does the Devil watch us as well?

1. The devil usually doesn't need to watch us, since we tend to follow
behind him pretty damn well.

(of course, I don't believe in a literal devil, but I think my statement is true)

3. Yes. The devil always lurks around the corner and tries to destroy us

What's worse is that we actively seek him out.

4. Sure. Why not? He's gotta...
watch over his interests, too.

Not that I necessarily believe in some guy with horns hanging out in Hell, or buy into that whole Fallen Angel thing. Or even the whole Good vs. Evil business that's managed to screw us up for 2,000 years.

Somehow, we managed to take the concept of duality and change it to Satan being pretty much a creation of God, and definitely inferior to God. It's like somebody back in the fog of time figured out that there's no point to Good without Evil, but didn't want to go the Eastern route of simply two equal and opposing forces. Or the polytheism of all sorts of gods with varying talents and character traits. Coming up with a monotheism that makes any sense isn't as easy as one might think.

Problem with that is that it really doesn't make all that much sense, and it leads us to make all these value judgments about people and things, and less about their actions or effects.

Not that I have a problem with God, just working through the questions and the mysteries...

5. He's in my house today.
Every once in a while he directs the actions of my two-year-old. :D

But seriously...I think he has a keen interest in our goings-on. I don't think he's anywhere near as powerful as God, so I take comfort in the thought that he doesn't know the exact number of hairs on my head. To put in it modern terms -- I think he subscribes to all major magazines, newspapers, and surfs the web regularly, but he's just skimming, and choosing to read some things in depth when they pique his interest.

6. Not always
Last night he was busy possessing the beagle, causing her worst night EVER in obedience class!! So, the rest of you were free to do whatever good works needed doing. You may get another chance in two weeks--no class on Labor Day.

7. Beagles are unfortunately fair targets...
since they are one of God's finest creations. O8)

8. Exactly
and vulnerable, because, well, they're not the sharpest tool in the shed--the cutest, but not the sharpest.

Although mine is a CGC!
