I'm doing field blessings for Rogation Days this week.

Anyone else doing this? It's a nice way to celebrate spring, and get out of the office and into the sun.

1. I didn't know the UCC church even acknowledged Rogation Days.

I had never heard of them until I worked for an Episcopal church a number of years ago, and even they didn't really do anything for it. I think it's nice that you're doing it. Enjoy!

2. Most UCCs aren't aware of them. I learned about this practice

when I used to attend the UCC Institute on Rural Ministry, which has since died. There's a handful of mainline Protestants doing this, with more each year. I've done it at three churches so far, and it's always been well-received. Sadly, it was reported to me that my successor at one church refused to continue this because it was "pagan". :eyes:
