I'm an atheist, but came across a very moving Christian book that I thought I'd share about here for others to check out.
It's called "Thinking Straight" by Robin Reardon.
Without giving away too much of the plot, its about this teenage boy whose parents find out he is gay, and he's shipped off to Straight to God, a rigid Bible Camp to address his "problem." During his experience, he confronts the common reasons why so many Christians prejudice against homosexuality, but explores actual Bible verses and puts things in perspective.
I came away with a very warm feeling after reading the book, not like the preconceived notions I held about Christianity before. It really showcases a bright side of Christianity, and brings you a sense of hope that all the ugliness we see coming from certain Christian quarters might be some day overcome with love and understanding.
