Eckhardt Tolle and the shift in consciousness
Mayan calandar shows the evolution of consciousness, and explains how a great shift will be happening on a world wide scale soon (www.mayanmajix.com). The Secret, a feature film from Australia, expounds upon it (www.thesecret.tv). But personally I've found the works of Eckhardt Tolle to be helping me the most with this evolutionary change.

How about you?

2. I've seen "The Secret" about 7 times....
it's incredible. I bought a copy for my bro. and myself. I then gave my copy to a friend who I knew would really be into it. I'm ordering another one now. I can't say enough about this DVD.

3. I've never seen "the secret"
or even heard of it before this reading this post. I'm checking out your links this morning.

I have read two books by Eckhardt Tolle. The Power of Now and A New Earth. He talks about it in A New Earth. I have to admit that I struggle to understand his stuff sometimes although he makes sense to me so I keep at it. If you could describe what this evolution of the consciousness is going to be like, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

4. well I liked it ayesha
I watched online then decided to buy a copy, and I know all these things to be true even though I often forget in this crazy hectic world and get swept up once again in the Maelstrom which is life on earth at the present moment.
And I have been seeking my own enlightenment for many years now for it is truly the best gift I can give to my children and the planet. What got me about most of these people who had discovered how the secret of the universe operates is that they mostly seemed to want to use it for material gain. I t was a really :wtf: moment in the film for me . Otherwise I loved it, it will be a good reminder and recharger for me on my journey.

5. I just watched it the other day
and I had the same thoughts as you about people using it for material gain. It kind of ruined the whole thing for me at first. Then I had the thought that just because some people don't use it for a higher purpose, doesn't mean there isn't something to it. What they didn't really mention in the film was what might happen if thousands or even millions of people were to use "the secret" to bring about profound and positive change in the world. You know, instead of, say, a new car

7. I would rather live in a world that works for eveyrone
than to drive a recent model car.

I am 55 yrs old and could care less about driving a sports car, but I understood the intent of the message. I believe more men tend to get wrapped up in this as they identify with their vehicles.

11. Have to agree. But there's a reason people link Peace AND Prosperity.
From one point of view it's rather condescending to focus on using "the secret" for material gain. It could be that the film's production team think that people new to the idea will be more confident if they start small. I can see that for a newbie, wishing for $500 and getting it is more tangible and rewarding than wishing for world peace and an end to hunger, which surely would happen.

From another point of view, it could be that these people think that prosperity isn't a sin.

From yet another point of view, it could be that gearing the film to a materialistic audience will *sell more copies of their DVD* than gearing it towards non-materialistic people like me who a) already know "the secret" and b) would just as soon borrow it or download a pirated copy.

We all have to eat, you know.

12. Well, I have nothing against prosperity
and I certainly don't think it's a sin but the worship of money over all else might be and it just seemed strange that such a profound spiritual message would be focused mainly on things like getting a new car and making your first million. These sorts of references put off warning lights in my head. I won't argue with the main message though because I'm already familiar with the principle it's based on and have found some truth to it.
