greetings all... newbie here (on this forum).
I'll begin, my sojourn here, with this thought:
seek ye not what the master taught...
seek instead that which the master sought
Very briefly: I was baptized roman catholic within days of my birth and was raised as such until I left home (some 40 years ago). I do not subscribe to any religion, although some things which I have come to accept as truth are contained within the teachings of several religions/belief-systems. In short: I am not a "religious" person, but I am a "spiritual" one.
What follows, is easiest for me to relate in terms of "christianity" (most obviously NOT interpreted in the most widely accepted manner--an understatement if there ever was one). Others are welcome to draw parallels, from their own belief system/experience (be those atheist, agnostic, free-thinking, organized religion, what-have-ye).
Also I willingly concede that which follows is/are by no means the only valuable resource/s. It is not the only "stuff" of which I am comprised... but it is the basis for the path upon which I embarked (many years ago)... so I will use those things herein:
1. Edgar Cayce's life-works (
http://www.edgarcayce.org )... begin this journey with the book:
There is a River (
http://tinyurl.com/ydbbyz3 -- search results: it's not necessary that one BUYs it, many libraries & swap-shops have copies)
2. ACIM ("A Course in Miracles") -- in a nutshell: miracles are little more than a "profound change in one's thinking" (one can access ACIM, for free, online:
http://acim-search.miraclevision.com/std-second-edition-and-supps/index.html )
3. Jesus' teachings (most any version of the New Testament) -- in a nutshell, focusing on: "seek ye first the kingdom" -- "the kingdom is found within" -- "ye are gods"
As my screen name ("thoughts are things") imparts:
THOUGHT is the mechanism of all creation, and we create our realities. The condition (meaning everything encountered in the "physical realm") is a result of our thinking. We are, where we are today... because of the choices we have made. Our thinking guided each and every one of those choices.
We create and give meaning to our own reality (which, is unique to each of us)...
a profound change in one's thinking = alternate reality to be manifested in the physical illusion = miracles
...with much interpretive liberty: Jesus taught: "as a man thinketh, so shall he be"
Edgar Cayce said: "SPIRIT is life, MIND the builder, PHYSICAL the result"
ACIM says: "nothing temporal is real, the PHYSICAL is but an illusion of our own making/thinking"
In summary: we are co-creators of our illusionary earth and all within it (not just limited to our own bodies) ... what shall we do about it (if we accept this as truth)?
Peace & Light
