What the BLEEP Do We Know?

It is about quantum physics but also explains that science has shown we create our own reality. I've only seen a part of it, but it is good-not as good as Mind Walk, but good. Unity Churches around here are showing it, so you may wish to check it out there, too.

2. finished watching it tonight
boy oh boy is it worth it! Science finally catches up with mysticism, and explains what it means when it is said, "you create your own reality."

4. I ordered it too!
My pastor says it meshes with our church perfectly; I didn't see it either - so I ordered it on DVD also.

5. I went to see a film at a local church of religious science
recently. Not this one; the Indigo film. I was shocked to hear the pastor there discussing this film. Many of his congregation had carpooled down into the L.A. area to see it, and highly recommended it.

It should be here any time. :-)

One of the things discussed that evening was the concept of "spiritual cinema." They are planning to begin showing films on a regular basis. Going through this group right here:

I can't afford to "subscribe" myself, but I would attend a group that subscribed. I'm in the midst of selling my house and packing for a big move; when I get settled into my new home, where ever that may be, I'll look for a group.

6. watched it last night
and enjoyed it (it's in video stores, and I selected it because I remembered having seen this thread) -- much of it concerned things I had been studying more than a few years ago after reading the Tao of Physics, but it was great to get kind of a refresher course. The only thing that bothered me was saying the Caribbean natives would not have seen Columbus's ships because they had never seen a ship before, but the shaman who was watching the waves change could then, see, them??? Say what? That made no sense to me. As a child, all things are new --if we had to have a brain reference before literally seeing them, we would all be forever blind. Since that was early in the film , I was a bit put off after that. I downloaded the study guide to read.

7. the shaman and the waves
that seemed a little strange as well-only thing I could relate it to shamanic visions of things that have yet to be realized-but this was not really talked about in the film, only something I know a bit about having been around Native American spiritual advisors.

8. could you explain shamanic visions a little?
Are they prophetic visions? I'm assuming so. I will read the study guide and see if I can make anything out of what seemed to me, clearly stupid and off-putting. There were enough others things in the film of value, imo, however.

I tried the daily planning thing today -- kind of. Tried to imagine all those molecules coalescing in another place rather than in the United Airlines check-in before I arrived. It didn't work; arrived an hour before my flight (accident on the expressway, and I had only allowed for a 4 hour window!) and took one look at the longest line I had ever seen, with only 5 of 20 ticket cubicles with a human in it, and just knew there was no way I could make my flight -- not that I didn't give it my best shot. So here I am, back home, refund in hand, having cancelled all the various reservations, with no spring vacation. Perhaps because of that film, I didn't blow a gasket -- but maybe it's because I have been learning of late that you don't press the fates, or you need to rest easy in a greater cosmic design for any impediment in your way. When my sister called and learned the news -- she said -- did you go ballistic? -- come on, tell the truth -- I know you. I think I am making progress!

9. I don't always remember the daily planning thing
but when I do, I find that, if nothing else, I'm calmer about facing situations. I have been able to do spiritual practices to influence getting somewhere on time and in lessening bad weather-or at least time seemed shorter and the rain/hail seemed to have lessened. I have found if more than one person focuses on the goal (for example, making sure there is light traffic), the more likely this will occur. One example: three of us were going to Springfield MO to do the Dances of Universal Peace. To get there, we have to go through Branson, where there are bottlenecks and traffic snarls a lot. I worried about this until one of my companions said, "Hey, we're practicing mystics! Let's visualize no problems!" And it worked! We sailed through at a time when usually there is a traffic jam.

Visions-ok, here's my take on them. This is based solely on my experience with Native American ritual and the people involved in it. Visions have been given to people in the sweatlodge, on Vision Quest, and at Sun Dance. In part of each of these rituals, the visions are told and the shaman interprets them-or not. One is not to discuss particular visions of others outside the ceremony, so I cannot give specific examples. But I would say that, generally, the visions are not prophetic but deal with specific problems/issues being faced by the individual. Or they are visions that defy interpretation at the time. It is the latter type of vision that I could see the shaman in the movie having. These types of visions could be anything from animals to people to patterns and lights and colors that don't "fit" into one's normal perceptions. Many times I've heard shamans say that they don't know what a vision means-either one they have had or one that another has had. This, in my mind, is the mark of a mature spiritual advisor, because they have humility and don't let ego get involved in always knowing an answer or interpretation.

11. I heard it hit the video stores this weekend.
I've been waiting for that, bt can't get a copy until tomorrow. It's been recommended to me by a 26-year-old muralist and an 80-year-old Unitarian man. It's got to be pretty ineresting!
