Share your thoughts on his music, his poetry, his life, his beliefs, and anything else. I'll start by saying if ya don't like Kurt Cobain, please just read this and move on. I would like for this thread to be for fans. Where I live in real life, everyone around despises him and they feel the need to bash his music if I dare mention I like him. It repulses me that they hate his music, but then again, it makes me feel some sense of rightness on my path in life.
Kurt Cobain once said that if someone is a racist, sexist, or homophobe, he didn't want them in the audience. Told them to fuck off. That took some real balls. I admire him not only for his music, but for standing up for people routinely bashed by the so-called majority.
I hope there are other KC fans here on DU. I'd love to hear your thoughts on him. People usually wait until the anniversary of his death to talk about him at all. I'd rather not really "celebrate" his death so much as his life in case anyone was wondering what significant date might be coming up and why I posted this thread. Nothing fancy or special coming up soon, I just wanted to talk about how much his strength helped me out. I live in a red state where racists, sexists, and homophobes are never told to fuck off.
Kurt Cobain's music and life made a difference in mine.
