Want to burn a CD with a collection of my favorite songs.
Edited on Fri Jan-14-05 01:18 PM by kaitykaity
I have CDs like the Offspring's Xnay on the Hombre
and Crazy Town's Gift of the Game that have one good
song.

But when I go in my burner -- Nero Express -- to select
the song, all I find is a directory with movies and
shit.

So help. Where are the songs hiding on those CDs.

(Plus I want to sell them once the good songs are burned
off of them.)

TIA.

on edit: decided to post this here instead of the computer
forum b/c I figured folks would know here and I like this
forum better than that one.

1. try RealOne for your burning software
It's free and it isn't difficult to find media with it. Or give Music Match a try - the free version is also pretty simple. I've used software where you have to root around for an eternity to find what you're looking for, and that crap got deleted off of my drive *real* fast.

2. RealOne or Music Match. Okay.

So it's the burning software.

Thanks! I knew I came to the right place.

3. Do you have two drives?
and which version of Nero do you have? It's what I use, and I love it.

Do you have two drives, and you're trying to extract a song from one drive to another?

4. Yeah, I have a CD burner and just a plain old CD ROM drive.

I have "Ahead Nero" software.

So what am I doing wrong?

5. I dunno
because I only have the one drive. I just rip the music to my hard drive, then burn it from there.

7. Okay, try this
Open up Explore. Under My Computer should be several drives. Click on the drive with the music CD in it. Tell me what you see in there.

9. hmm
even in Explore? that's weird. I just tried it with a music CD, and it gave me a track listing. OTOH, it said they were all 1 KB in size.

FWIW, I just opened up Nero Express and went looking. Same thing. This is weird. I'm trying to remember how I did it before.

Okay, I think I played it in Winamp, but set WinAmp up to output a .wav file to a directory. You can also use dbPowerAmp, a cool program that does something similar.

10. Now if you could explain that in English that'd be
real cool.

Output a .wav file to a directory?

:dunce:

I'm gonna start drooling here in a second.
