Any ruby throated hummingbird sightings to report

1. Not yet

I have my feeders ready though. I can not wait for them to get back.

2. They show up when

the Turk's Cap, Lantana and Salvia are in full bloom. Last year I saw them in early May and again late in the season - Aug and Sept.

5. I saw the first bird of the season today!

I could have sworn it was not a Ruby Throat. It had a really dark and prominate chin. He came up to the feeder near my window, but the reflection of the glass may have contributed to the chin color I thought I saw.

6. hummingbirds

I put out my feeder about a week ago. I put up a hummingbird feeder last fall and had hummingbirds (ruby throated I think is the most common here in St. Louis) almost immediately. I don't know if I'll get any in the spring or not - we'll see. I don't have as many flowers blooming yet to attract them.
