Our office moved back in November to a rural area of Massachusetts. We are right next to a big marsh and a bird sanctuary. I started bringing in some seed from home and throwing it out into the bushes by the windows. Within two days we had male & female cardinals, Juncos, sparrows, and chickadees. I asked if I could put up a feeder and they said yes, but away from the windows. They don't want mice in the building. So to date we have had in addition to the previously mentioned; tufted tit mice, downy woodpeckers, mourning doves, purple finch, red winged black birds, boat tailed grackles, starlings, blue jays, mockingbirds, fox sparrows, and a female blue bird! I need to bring a camera into work and take some pictures to post. We saw the male cardinal feeding the female the other day, so it is getting close to mating season. I can't wait for spring, so I can put out more feeders on Shepard's hooks. The ground is still a little too hard for that. Once those are in, I am going to put up hummingbird feeders.
