There is a Marbled Godwit at a nearby park
Apparently first seen on Saturday, I didn't check my email until that night to see the report.

I couldn't go see the bird yesterday due to a mini-marathon that closed off the park. It was seen this morning at 730.

Now, this is a bird that only shows up a couple times a year in Ohio, and usually doesn't hang around and usually only shows up at locations about 2 hours away from where I live.

I'm getting antsy about seeing this bird because not only would it be a life bird, but I've missed opportunities to see it before by missing out on trips with friends or it just being in a location that was too far away to make the trip worthwhile.

I'm seriously considering taking a long lunch to go see this bird.

1. And of course, I miss it by 20 minutes
and of course, it was reported after I left...

Going to try again in 15 minutes - I will see this bird!

2. Success!
Finally saw the bird on my third try after work. I'll post pictures later. This is ABA bird 398 for me.

4. Interesting bird
The feathers look really faded, and the two-toned bill isn't apparent.

Congratulations!

5. Well, the second photo explains why you can't see the two tones on the bill
it's covered in muck!
