I made a nice discovery while working in the yard today.
A pair of cardinals have nested in my climbing rose and have two nestlings. They look to be only a few days old. Both parents are making regular trips back and forth. I had seen the male the other day fighting with a blue jay on the front fence near the rose. I thought that was a little unusual, but now I know why.

I guess I'll wait a while before I start cutting the rose back. Does anyone know if cardinals will reuse a nest? I've heard that some birds will if they've successfully raised a brood in one, but I couldn't find any such info on cardinals.
