Just got back from three days in Michigan
Birding around the Saginaw Bay, Grayling and Port Huron area. Really good trip-114 species! Had awesome looks at Kirtland's Warbler, Mourning Warbler, Canada Warbler, Least Bittern, singing Winter Wren, Vesper Sparrows, singing Veery and Hermit Thrush, Clay-colored Sparrow, Yellow-headed Blackbird, and more!

I highly recommend birding the Grayling area - lots of great habitat.

3. Michigan is a great place to bird
Geographically, it straddles the northern limits of a lot southern breeders, and the southern limits of a lot of northern breeders. We probably could have done even better if the weather had cooperated!

4. Sounds great - we haven't been up there since 1995 when
we took a camping trip to the U.P. It's really a gorgeous place and I think a secret :-).
