Good spring raptor migration spot in Michigan's Upper Peninsula:

I'm not an official birder, but I did witness part of upper Michigan's annual raptor migration. I didn't recognize most of the birds I saw, but I did get some spectacular views of what looked like a type of falcon to me as they came shooting straight up the face of a cliff on Brockway Mountain where we were sitting just back from the edge of the cliff. It was quite a surprise to get such a close up look at a bird I'd never seen before.
There are good opportunities to see Bald Eagles in other parts of upper Michigan.
The raptor migration happens each spring in Michigan's Keewenaw peninsula, which juts into Lake Superior, and provides a last chance resting spot for migrating birds before they cross the lake towards Canada. Peak viewing occurs in mid May.

1. That is a great spot

I grew up about 40 miles south of there. I saw the migration once as a kid - just thousands of hawks wheeling about in the sky. The Keewenaw Peninsula is a great migrant trap that gets overlooked as it's between Duluth and Whitefish point.
