Ah springtime in southern California
The meadowlarks have been back for almost one month now. Is there a prettier song on Earth?

1. Good pic! You will have a beautiful spring this year
thanks to all the rain you've been getting.

2. I hijacked the pic from somewhere on the Internet
I only wish I could take photos like this!

The rain doesn't bother me at all. I am originally from PA. It's nice to see some weather out here for a change.

It will be a glorious Spring :-).

3. It's great, isn't it?
I'm loving this spring. All this rain has made everything so green! There aren't any meadowlarks near my house--too many trees, but I've been seeing them perched on the cow field fences down the road. I often catch a snip of their songs as I pass. It always cheers me up.

4. I'm still awaiting my first ML of the year
In Wisconsin we get both species, but Westerns are few and far between. Thankfully their songs are distinctive or IDing them would really be a chore. I agree that the song of the Western Meadowlark is especially beautiful.
